Track Biography:
The Killinick Harriers point-to-point has been held at the costal track of Lingstown since 1962. The point-to-point is said to have commenced in the late 1800’s. The previous venues being Foleys of Granask, Harveysglass, Knockhowlin and Cousinstown.
The track itself is a free-draining track and runs down to the Irish Sea on one side and Tacumshane Lake on the eastern side. Over the years there has been many successful trainers and jockeys partnerships forged at Lingstown. An example of this is Padge Berry and his nephew John and, in recent years, William Codd and his brother Jamie, who is one of the leading amateur riders in Ireland both on the track and in point-to-points.
Lingstown has been a successful hunting ground for the Wexford trainers of Colin Bowe, Denis Murphy and the Doyle brothers, to name but a few. There are two meetings held there each season, one in November and one on the second Sunday in March. We hold our banks race at each fixture which is always a great spectacle to watch.
Lingstown has produced many stars over the years such as the 2017 Aintree Grand National winner, One For Arthur and the former Kerry National winner Rath Of Titans as well as Marie Banrigh who was sold for a record breaking £320,000 at the Cheltenham festival sale after winning at Lingstown a few days previous.

How To Get There
By Road
From Waterford– Follow the N25 from New Ross to Wexford. Follow the signs for Rosslare Harbour until you come to the exit for Kilmore Quay. Take this exit and follow the signs from there.
From Dublin- Take the Wexford turn off from the M50 from Dublin. Take the Rosslare road followed by the exit for Kilmore Quay and follow the signs for the point-to-point from there.
By Air
Our point-to-point is located two and a half hours from Dublin airport.

Our free parking is located in the centre of the track on a hill which allows race goers to view the whole track from the comfort of their car while also appreciating the coastal views.
In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.

Our hard working committee have a delicious selection of fresh sandwiches, soups and cakes on offer free of charge in the permanent catering shed that we use.
Our outside catering vendor also offers a choice of burgers, rolls, sausages and chips.

No, we do not have an official dress code we just advise our race goers to wear warm coats, caps and good footwear.
Dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Yes, we welcome visitors to bring their own picnics or refreshments. We also have a range of catering options on course.
At our point-to-point, we are lucky to have wide open spaces for children to play in a safe environment.
No we do not provide an ATM so we recommend that you make a stop in the nearby villages of Killinick or Bridgetown on your way to the races.

Lingstown point-to-point is an ideal day out for all the family in the sunny south-east.
Our point-to-point is located ten minutes away from the picturesque Kilmore Quay which has a long sandy beach, quaint pubs and restaurants and different boat trips on offer that bring you to the nearby Saltee Islands.
With Rosslare Harbour only a twenty minute drive from our point-to-point, it is the ideal spot to enjoy a family break with endless things to do for all ages throughout the year.

The latter was sent off as an odds-on favourite for it, and was likely done no favours by a final-fence blunder, whilst the Stuart Crawford-trained Nosnowhere finishing strongly to suggest the extra half-a-mile here should him. Of the newcomers, Monster Truck was a E90,000 purchase from the sponsors sale last summer, whilst Brian Lawless has three winners from four four-year-old runners in 2026, which ensures his Max Potential has to be respected.

That will stand to him here following a break. Bold Opinion filled that same position at Ballycrystal last time, whilst of the newcomers, Jonathan Fogarty has his string in good form this season, and Pelican Hill was a E78,000 store sale purchase.

It has certainly been worth following the Ian McCarthy stable this season. From 12 runners between the flags this term, they have produced ten winners, including FOUNTAIN HOUSE who won a hunt race in Punchestown last month. He had won on his sole previous start over this course in November 2024, and could continue the stable's winning form in this. What Path won over the banks course at Knockanard last month which would certainly bring him into the equation, as he had the reopposing Lord Of Kerak just over two lengths adrift of him, whilst Gale Force Jet is capable of better than his sixth around here in November.

Confined to handlers who have saddled ten winners of less, a chance is taken on the mare KILBRIN ROSE. Twice placed, including at Quakerstown in November, she may not have set the world alight since then, but this would look a good opportunity for her if putting her best foot forward. Medina Blue twice ran respectably as a four-year-old last year, and she represents the same connections that won this race 12 months ago with Kilbuny Supersonic, whilst Sherwood Star would have possible place claims on his Nenagh showing last month.
